Mount Aloysius students, faculty and staff can use the EZ-Borrow service to borrow books owned by other libraries.
What is EZ-Borrow
EZ-Borrow is an online service of The Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium, Inc. that simultaneously searches the catalogs of 60 Pennsylvania, New Jersey and West Virginia libraries and enables you to directly request and borrow books currently not available in the Mount Aloysius College Library. Requested books usually arrive within 5 business days. Once you are notified by e-mail, you may pick up, check out and return your books at the Library Circulation Desk. Books not picked up and checked out within 14 days will be returned to the owning library.
Who is eligible to use this service?
All current Mount Aloysius College students, faculty and staff, who are in good standing with the library, may request books through EZ-Borrow. You need a valid ID card and an up-to-date library circulation record. Books may be borrowed for a period of 28 days with one renewal.
How do I request a book?
Choose an EZ-Borrow link from the Library's website. Login using your patron ID number from the back of your ID card. Select Searching/Requesting. Enter search term, select search criteria type, and begin searching. Be patient. The process will automatically search 20 catalogs from Group 1. If the Group 1 search does not display your requested item, search Groups 2 and 3. If you can't locate the book you want through EZ-Borrow, or want other materials such as journal articles, use our interlibrary loan service. Only books are available through EZ-Borrow.
Why should I use EZ-Borrow?
You can save time by using EZ-Borrow. Since you submit your requests directly to the lending library, the interlibrary loan staff does not have to perform the usual steps of verifying and locating the books that you need.
Is there a charge for borrowing?
Borrowing is free, but you will be responsible for any damage or loss while the books are checked out to you.
