Linux Online
     Linux is a free Unix-type operating system originally created by Linus Torvalds with the assistance of developers around the world. Developed under the GNU General Public License, the source code for Linux is freely available to everyone. This operating system is the basis for our CS229 course.

My SQL
     The My SQL database has become the world's most popular open source database because of its consistent fast performance, high reliability and ease of use. It is used in more than 10 million installations ranging from large corporations to specialized embedded applications on every continent in the world (Yes, even Antarctica).

Open Office
     OpenOffice.org is an open-source office suite and project. Compatible with all other major office suites, the product is free to download, use and distribute.

Apache Software Foundation
     The Apache HTTP Server Project is an effort to develop and maintain an open-source HTTP server for modern operating systems including UNIX and Windows. The goal of this project is to provide a secure, efficient and extensible server that provides HTTP services in sync with the current HTTP standards. The Apache WEB server has been the most popular web server on the Internet since April 1996.  The Netcraft Web Server Survey consistenlty returns results showing Apache to be more widely used than all other web servers combined.

Sendmail.ORG 
     This web site is maintained by the Sendmail Consortium to be a resource for the open source version of sendmail, probably the most widely used email server system on the Internet.
