Library Gift Policy
Mount Aloysius College Library accepts book donations from patrons. The Library does not accept donations with restrictions placed on the donation by the donor-patron. Once items are donated to the Library, the donor accepts that the items are the property of the College to add or dispose of as the Director and/or his designee sees fit.
Currently the Director and/or his designee are responsible for the acceptance and disposition of gifts. Items for donation must be formally accepted by the Director and/or his designee either by phone or e-mail prior to drop off of materials. We appreciate lists of items that are provided in advance for review by the Director. Lists with titles, dates, and ISBNs can be e-mailed to askalibrarian@mtaloy.edu for collection consideration. Criteria for inclusion into the collection include appropriateness to curriculum, duplication, and physical condition. Duplicate and unwanted materials will be disposed of.
Regrettably, no determination of value of gifts can be made by the Library. We will, however, acknowledge your donation of materials in writing if requested. Acknowledgement letters do not include itemized lists. If you require a list of donated materials, it is suggested that you create one prior to donation.
