Library of Congress Classification System
The Mount Aloysius College Library catalog, like those at most other institutions of higher education, uses the Library of Congress Classification (L. C.) System. This system is known as an alpha - numeric system, i.e. categories of knowledge are assigned letters of the alphabet. Numbers follow letters in call numbers cataloged in the L.C. system.
The Juvenile Collection in the Mount Aloysius College Library is an exception as it is cataloged using the Dewey Decimal System that is common to most public libraries.
